Homostupids - Night Deacon EP

Cleveland's Homostupids most recent release. Still available on Fashionable Idiots.

If you don't already know about Homostupids, this is a good place to start, so grab it up and go find some more.

Condominium - Gag

Fourth 7" from St. Paul's finest, Condominium. This one is still available from Deer Healer, so snatch it up before they're all gone. If you don't already have them, you can also download their other 3 7"s and 2 live tapes from Fashionable Activism.

While we're at it, here is their blog, and they also have some shows coming up on the east coast in June. Dates here.

Pygmy Shrews - The Egyptian

Since people seem to be eating up the Lord Got Busted 7", I figured it was only fitting to upload the Pygmy Shrews' first LP, The Egyptian. This one is sold out on Wantage USA, but you might still be able to find it in some distros, or hiding in your local record store. If that doesn't work, it's getting repressed at some point in the near future, so keep an eye out.

Diet Cokeheads

Diet Cokeheads are a fuzzed out, 3 piece noise rock band with male/female vocals, from Gainesville, Florida.

They currently have a 7" and live tape available from Drugged Conscience and a 7" on Ventriculoperitoneal Sound, but I'm still waiting on those all to arrive.

Since I don't currently have hard copies of either of their 7"s, and want you all to support Drugged Conscience/VPS, I'm just reposting the songs they have up on their blog in an effort to get more people listening to them. I haven't stopped listening to these tracks since I stumbled across them a few months back, and see no end in sight. 6 songs, 4 from their demo, 2 from their current 7"s. Check this shit out.

Cola Freaks - Ingenting Set 7"

Lack of funds has resulted in a general lack of new vinyl. Here is some shit to tide you over until I have a steady income again:

Cola Freaks are from Aarhus, Denmark and play some more catchy punk, as seems to be an ongoing trend of a good chunk of Danish bands. Copies are still available from Hjernespind.

No Balls - Come Clean LP

Monotonous, brutal, noisy protopunk from Drajan Bryngelsson and Dan Raberg of Brainbombs. Mostly drums and guitar, with trumpets and incredibly quiet vocals thrown into the mix on some of the tracks. Limited to 300 copies on RTB Records. If aggressive and scuzzy music isn't your cup of tea, you should probably skip over this one.

You can also download their 7" from Fashionable Activism.

No Balls - Come Clean LP

La Piovra - Risacca b/w Danni Collaterali

Raging, high energy Italian hardcore punk with some killer guitar riffs. Members went on to Smart Cops.

Insomnio - Walking On The String EP

4 tracks of catchy punk rock from Spain.

Strung Up - ST 7"

80s styled hardcore from the Bay Area with gruff, angry vocals. I'm also tossing up a link to their split LP with Direct Control. If you want more, hunt down their Warfucked 7" and Society Rot In Hell LP.

Neuroottiset Pelimannit - ST 7"

Finnish hardcore punk. Fast with killer riffs and solos. I also recommend the Sita Saa Mita Tilaa 7", which you should be able to find elsewhere.

D.S.-13 - Aborted Teen Generation

Fast, thrashy, pissed off hardcore from Sweden. This one was put out in 1998, and is the best of their releases in my opinion. Members went on to a handful of other bands including, but not limited to, Imperial Leather, Vicious, and Insurgent Kid.

If you're so inclined, you can grab a hard copy of the 2003 repress from Havoc Records. While you're over there, check out all the other quality shit Felix has put out or has in his distro.

More posts coming in the next few days.

Retainers - Lose It 7"

One of the best in Minneapolis. Retainers play ripping, lo-fi garage punk and enjoy their alcoholic beverages. If you're into this, grab their LP from Kevin at Fashionable Activism and check out the Sinks post I made a month back.

There are a couple little clicks on this one but they really aren't too bad as far as minor clicks go. I apologize, but such is the way of the world and vinyl.

Retainers - Lose It

Swinehood - In Bad Shape 7"

Scummy, noisy, garage-y punk from Sweden. Drajan from Brainbombs on drums. 4 faster tracks on the Aside at 33rpm, and one 3 minute jam at 45rpm on the Bside. Released on Kenrock in 2007.

Career Suicide - SARS EP

One of my favorites from Toronto. If you're not already long since aware of Career Suicide, this EP is a good start and then you can move onto the anthologies, which I'd imagine are pretty easy to find on other blogs.

Imperial Leather - Antibodies EP

Imperial Leather is a catchy hardcore punk rock n' roll band from Stockholm, Sweden, with Amyl Nitrate on vocals. Pretty serious lineup in this band, having featured members from No Security, DS-13, Burning Kitchen, Sunday Morning Einsteins and a whole slew of others.

Pygmy Shrews - Lord Got Busted 7"

Slow, sludgy noise rock from Brooklyn. Featuring the drummer of Drunkdriver and guitarist from Zs. Male and female vocals. The Bside is a cover of Kill Yourself by Pussy Galore.

Copies of this one are still available directly from Fan Death Records, so grab yourself a copy.

Big Black - Songs About Fucking

Steve Albini's project before Rapeman, Big Black was around from 82 to 87. This is another that I'd imagine most people already have, but if not, you're late and should make up for lost time by blasting this shit all week.

Songs About Fucking was released in 87 and the band disbanded after it's release.

If you're completely unfamiliar with Steve Albini, this is some abrasive noise rock that happens to use a drum machine.

Big Black - Songs About Fucking

Exterminate - 理想と現実

Some more raging Japanese hardcore, with some awesome dual vocals this time around. All I really know about this band is that this release is a CD, and they've released at least one other 7"/CD on MCR. If someone happens to read this and has any of their other releases, you should rip them for our enjoyment, or point me to an obscure distro that still has copies laying around or something.

Funeral Shock - ST 7"

First release from this bay area outfit featuring ex members of Capitalist Casualties and Spazz. 3 tracks of pissed off west coast hardcore clocking in at just under 5 minutes. They've since released a couple more 7"s and an LP.

Total Abuse - Sex Pig EP

You probably already have this. If not, it's 7 tracks of noisy, bad natured hardcore in about 8 minutes. I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding their LP or demo on other blogs if this is up your alley.

Total Abuse - Sex Pig EP

More updates coming this week. Mass amounts of job apps, people staying at my place, and a total lack of motivation have been getting in the way.

Drunks With Guns LP

Unfortunately I don't actually own a copy and can't find a picture of the cover, so here's the cover of their ST 7". The link is for the LP though.

Clockcleaner - Skinheaded Lady

Put out by Stained Circles for Clockcleaner's Australian tour in 2008. Bside is a cover of Hate City by X, with different lyrics. "Couldn't understand the words so made up some new ones. Deal."

I've been informed that Kurt Vile is playing the saxophone, and I'll assume this is correct unless someone has a more compelling argument for him playing a different instrument.

Hammer - Yellow LP

Hammer are from Japan and play fast hardcore punk. They are good.

Unfortunately, I don't speak or read Japanese, so I have no fucking clue what this record is actually titled, and only one of the tracks is listed on the record in English. Fortunately, it doesn't matter because this record rips regardless of if you have any idea what the vocalist is saying.
